Do you have the old print Orbis Polonus" Vol.1, by Simone Okolski, Cracow 1641, in your collections?
I am researching some rare editions of Volume 1 of Orbis Polonus that, in dramatic circumstances, left the printing house of Francis Ceasari in Cracow shortly after 1645.
The story began in 1641 when the first edition of Vol.1 was printed and distributed. Numerous conflicts resulted from that, namely some court cases, and finally, the crowd burned the printing house of Caesari. Shortly after 1645, an extended and corrected edition of Vol.1 was printed and distributed. It was much smaller than the first edition. Following that, the second and third volumes were printed.
Until now, I have identified 103 original specimens of this book in Europe, and 95 of them have been checked for me to which edition they belong. Here is the map of distribution: h t t ps://maphub.net/Skarbek1/distri-of-orbis-polonus-vol1
Thanks in advance and best regards
